Stories move people -
Most business communication
doesn't

Most business communication is forgotten almost as soon as it's heard. Not because the ideas aren't good but because they weren't built to be remembered.

Story of Business changes that, helping leaders, teams and organisations to communicate in ways that land with clients, with boards and with people they most need to move.

The difference between
being listened to and
being remembered

We know that stories work. Neuroscience tells us why: when a story lands right, a listener’s brain doesn’t just process it - it lives it. Emotion, memory, trust and decision-making all activate in ways that facts alone could never trigger.

Story of Business takes that understanding and makes it practical. I work with people who have something important to communicate - a strategy, a pitch, a vision, a case for change - and I help them build it in a way that moves people to act.

The approach is grounded in twenty years of senior management experience across international organisations, a studied understanding of how the brain responds to narrative and the practical skills of someone who has been telling, building and teaching stories their entire working life.

The person
behind the practice

I have spent twenty years in senior roles across international education — the British Council, Study Group, INTO University Partnerships — before a moment of personal reckoning led me to build something of my own. Story of Business is the result: a practice built on the belief that better communication changes things and that the tools to do it can be learned.

Every story that lands
is built the same way

The CRAFT framework is at the heart of what we do. Five elements. One story.

C — Context  Set the scene in one sentence.

R — Risk  What was at stake? Why did it matter?

A — Action  What someone decided to do.

F — Flip  What actually changed — the before/after moment.

T — Takeaway  Why it matters to your listener.
